i dont see why not. personally I have had much better results (and no PH swings) with aragamilk and Seachems reef complete. just keep your calcium and magnesium levels in check and it will grow.

and once its got really out of control, you will regret having it

coralline grows really well on plastics , including acrylic tank backs, sides and the front
you need to keep on top of it as it tends to layer, so once you spot it , it should come of easily with the algae magnet, leave it a week or 2 and then its really thick and stubborn and you can scratch your tank trying to remove it

if it only grew on rockwork, then it would be awesome stuff to have and thus encouraged

Keep in mind Purple Up also has iodine in it, so don't go overboard using it or you can wipe out inverts in a hurry. Phosphates will slow coralline growth as well, so if it doesn't seem to be growing, test for that and eliminate the source.

I persoanlly dont like adding anything to a cycling system. If you keep your Cal level where it should be, you shouldnt have the need to use Purple Up. Having said this, you should just worry about starting-finishing your cycle and then worry about the rest. In the mean time, research, read and ask.;)

Agreed.. it wont take long for coralline to spread if you have a start of it already in there. I wouldnt mess with your cycle

Never add anything to your tank unless you know exactly what is in it, you have test kits for every item in it and you use those test kits regularlly and know the substances you are adding are actually depleted.

Its so easy to get a system out of whack by adding supplements and additives that the LFS says are miracle workers. Most if not all are not needed and can do as much harm as good given time. Be patient and you will soon have more corraline than you know what to do with. You will be cussing it in no time, trust me on that!
