About 10 days ago I removed two pieces of rock from my tank to free up some swimming space in my tank. One of the rocks I wanted to keep, but couldn't make it work with the scape.

Long story short, my xenia keeps getting sucked up into my refugium pump so I need to pull it off the rock it is on and put it on a small piece of rubble. This works out because I hated the rock it was on and wanted to get rid of it.

So now the question. That rock I pulled out 10 days ago has been sitting in a bucket (not in water) on my patio. Is it safe to rinse off and put back in or while I get an ammonia spike?

I wouldn't be that concerned usually, but I just got my first piece of SPS and I don't want a small ammonia spike to to hurt/kill it.

If you scrub it well and depending on the size your tank can probably handle any additional load. If the SPS is acclimated to your tank it should be fine with a mild spike.
