In Oct. I started to notice some hair algae growing in my 12 gal nano. My dog died on Oct. 4. I know it aint right, but I kinda let everything go. I saw the algae getting worse, but just, I don't know didn't do anything. I'm kicking myself now.

This is what my tank looked like at the beginning of summer

This is what it looked like with all the algae(after I moved my coral):p

This is after most of the algae is gone and oh yea, new lights

I have moved some of my coral into the 12 gal. I will take a pic later and post it.

I CAN'T WAIT TO PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER !! It has been so ugly for so long.

I'm not sure all my coral made it though. My GSP receeded a bit, the purple skinned ones moe than the white skinned one. And I haven't seen any of my red mushrooms and my nice blue ricordea is now a small green one.

My candy cane died a bit ago when I was moving it into my 6 gal, I had it in a bowl of tank water and droped it on the floor and my husbands dog grabbed it and well, it didn't make it.

Nano tanks can be a lot of work, im sure your heart just wasnt in it, with grieving the loss of your dog.
hope all goes well with the new start :)

I had some small issues with the nano, but that was mostly my tank falling apart. This is the worst problem I've had in 5 years.

And yea, I ask myself why I let it get that bad, and not that it's an excuse, but I think had I not lost my dog, I would have been right on top of it.

I'm waiting to see if any of corals will open up today. My ricordea is starting to. It's so small.:(

Good luck starting over. Everyone makes mistakes and gets stressed out in life.

yea, it will take time. For some reason I was thinking I'd just put them back in the 12 gal. and they would be so happy they'd open up!! If it's one thing I've learned in salt water- patience is a nescessity.

Actually, now that I put all my coral back into my 12, my 6 gal looks empty. I never really stalked my 6. I guess it's kinda a hospital tank for reasons just like this. If I didn't have my 6 gal I think I would have lost all my coral.

Added my GSP (the king of the hill), my yellow polyps ( far left, can barely see the little yellow nubs), my blue ricordea (which are actually green now, and not sure you will see it, waaay at the bottom, right of the purple tonga branch,3 tiny grren spots)

I also bought 3 more narcius snails, 6 red leg hermits and one mexican turbo (which is munching on my back wall right now:))
