3/4 inch if I'm not mistaken, my Mag 5 uses 1/2 inch.

    Hey Monkey,

The manufacturer says it takes a female threaded 1/2' connector. So, what I would do is get a 1/2" threaded to slip connector. Then run ~3" of SCH200 (IPS) PVC to a compression connector. I'm not sure of the name, but it looks similar to a euroreef threaded connector. This connector will allow you to disconnect your pump for maintenance. Also, remember to get a check valve. One of the benefits of PVC is how nicely it works with locline. But, if your pump stops, then you will drain down to the highest outlet in the tank. FINALLY, I promise, use IPS PVC. This PVC is thin walled and allows greater volume for the external diameter. Hope this all helps.

Yes a Mag 7 is 1/2 inch But if you increase it with a 1/2x 3/4 F.M Adaptor you will get a bit more water moving volume rather a blasting outlet into the tank.. I'd go with a Mag 9.5 and be done with it.. that is 3/4

I just plumbed my return (via a SCWD) using a MAG7. As others have said, it's 1/2 inch coming off the pump, but I'd definitely increase to 3/4 inch. Not sure if I used thin wall or something else.

Pick up the 2 part PVC glue (purple primer and clear glue) and some teflon tape...be sure to put plenty of wraps of the tape on any male connections...
(did that sound like safe sex advice?)

What are you guys using to convert it from 1/2" to 3/4"? I was trying to find the right connection on Marinedepot.com and couldn't so I thought I would just stick with the 1/2", but I would love more FLOW!
