I've done a bit of research on PVC frames for aquascaping and decided to do a smal square or rectangle or two in my tank. Should I just drill holes in the PVC for the zip-ties only or drill a few more as well. Anyone who has done this feel free to chime in.

I have PVC post to hold up my rock work, so my pistol shrimp doesn't create a land slide.

I just use a little bit of silicone to keep them in place.

I would drill extra holes, to avoid any dead spots. just make sure they are small, so nothing can get in and get caught.

I had a small rectangle shelf with eggcrate on top, tied with fishing line on my first tank with holes drilled throughout, and i hooked a small powerhead to it. It created a nice flow underneath all my live rock.

Cool, thanks guys. I wonder if its safe to stain the pvc purple with the purple primer I have? I will try to hide as much as the pvc as I can. We used it to glue pvc together for sump, so should not hurt right?

Oatey Purple Primer? You're Safe :) Just let it cure for 24hrs before putting it in your tank.

    Good Luck!
