PVC overflow

    I thought about attempting one, but just got an overflow box instead with a U-tube. If you really wanted to, you could just have a vinyl tube doing into your sump. I looked at the diagrams before and it looks pretty good. I say go for it.

    My only question is if little air bubbles accumulate you would have to have the airline tube connected to a powerhead just to make sure its always air free. I would def. build one if I saw one in action. expeccially in power outage situations.

    I've built two of em in the past. They work perfectly. Very simple to build.

    i think i will try it. i would have it permanently connected to a power head. thanks for the input everyone. good to hear from someone who has already done it.
    i would have preferred to drill the tank, but i didn't plan on having a sump and it's too late now.
    i will let u know how it goes.

    what kind of flow should i aim for to my sump. i have an 80g tank. the sump is about 50g.
    would about 250 gph be enough?
