PVC Question

    Im setting up the plumbing on my tank...is a pvc to pvc connection water tight or do i have to cement it together...

    id rather not cement it to together in case i had to break to tank down and move it...could i just use tape on the ends to seal it?

    you must cement, but you could put a threaded elbow or something here and there so you could unscrew the pieces.

    what type of cement do you use
    i picked up a pvc primer in a purple can and 2 different pvc cements,one used for pools in a blue can and the other is regular cement in a black can
    which do i use

    I use the purple Oatey primer, and the gold oatey cement.

    Use threaded fittings, then it can be disassembled, reconfigured, reused etc over and over with no leakage.
    I always use thread by thread bulkheads and add plenty of unions and ball valves so pieces can be isolated, taken apart and cleaned as needed.

    Use teflon type if you go this way.
