Pygmy Angels (Coral Beauty and Flame) Reef compatibility?

i was wondering how well these fish do in reef aquariums? I have read that they may nip at soft corals and clams? From your experience, is this true and to what extent? Thanks for any help

 

I've never had any of those two, but i do have a Blue Angel. He's a very curious and playful fish. anything new that goes into the tank he'll definitely investigate and play w/. but he usually looses interest before any damage is done.

 

I have a Cherub Pygmy in the DT and a Coral Beauty in the 29. The Cherub doesnt necessarily nip but they do move around the tank searching for algae, much like Tangs, Blennies, etc...They are constantly picking on the rock and glass...

Its luck of the draw. Ive never had a problem with them, but Ive heard stoires of them terrorizing tanks. Just like Tangs and FoxFaces, I know a well known reefer who had to get rid of a Hippo tang because it ate a 8" colony of zoa's.

 

That sounds familiar, wonder where have I heard of this before. hmmmm

I know a guy who had to break down an entire 225 with probably 75 full size sps colonies and an equal amount of zoas to retrieve a zoa eating scribbled rabbit. This was an all day event for him. He tried everything from netting him to putting a zoa on a fish hook. it was kinda funny. Now on to the angel thing. When I had my tank crash, I had a flame angel in there that never gave any of my corals a second glance. it was a great fish but on the same note there's a flame angel in the lfs where I work that likes to munch on zoas so it really is the luck of the draw.
