They are both mean little Fishies, so they may get along being equally mean and leave one another alone. Or they may spar until one or the other are killed. If they were added at the same time you may have less problems. Hippos get big though and that is when they are meanest so it may be fine for a while until hippo decides he's bmoc. Then angel may not fair quite as well. Adding a tang to a tank that has the cb in it already if the tang is a tad bigger might be the best plan. I don't know though 2 aggressive fish is always a risky thing to do.

A coral beauty angelfish won't bother a hippo tang in a large tank(or a very small chance). It depends on the fish.

Yes, I had a coral beauty, flame angel, bicolor angel, and hippo tang together (along with other fish) in a reef tank with no problems out any of them. The only fish that gave my trouble was the bicolor pseudochromis which insisted that the entire rockscape was his very own.

Cool, it sounds like the common consensus is that, for the most part with care, they will get along. It's funny, although my coral B is fairly new and still a bit skiddish, my lawnmower blenny (AKA Ant, that's what my 3 year old named him) is getting rather aggressive with her. Every time she gets close to his rock, he shoots out and chases her off. I didn't know blennys were territorial.

One thing that will help tons is proper and varied diet. I fed a frozen angel mix that included marine sponge, kelp, mysis and brine. To that I added chopped clam, squid and krill. The hippo loved it as much as the pigmy angels. Nori on a clip might help also if you don't have much algae for them to graze on.

+1 I bought the frozen angel mix and my CB loved it. All she's been doing since the first day is grazing on the rocks. Then I threw the partial cube in and in 5 minutes it was gone. I even tried a small strip of natural seaweed, but nobody even so much as picked at that. When I get my hippo I'll definitely try the clam and squid as well. Just taking it slow at first : )
