On Friday I received two yasha gobies and their shrimp friend. The shrimp is working away on a burrow and I see glimpses of him every now and then.

I haven't seen the fish at all. I assume they are in the burrow since I can't find them anywhere else in the tank (which is not huge, so I should be able to find them).

Did your prawn goby hide when it was new? And if so, when did it come out?

I'm getting worried since they are now on day 5 of no food. :-/

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Prawn gobies are famous for hiding out for extended periods of time. They can usually get enough food in the way of sm. inverts like pods and such in the sandbed.

If you want to increase the chances of them eating turn off the pumps and feed the tank with focus on the sandbed, let it sit for like 20 min and then turn everything back on. You may not see them eat, but they are eating.

    thanks for the reply!

I should have waited to post, as last night, they decided they were hungry enough to pop their heads out. Both yashas were standing duty, one on each side of the burrow. Wow, that thing is huge, btw!

They both ate some mysis. Phew! I feel better now. :)

Oh, thanks! :) I will remember that.

They are hilarious - and have black goatees! They are starting to stand guard, so hopefully they are more comfortable. There is not a thing scary in that tank (except my giant face staring at them), so I hope they realize that soon!
