    Gawd can't believe I'm posting.....but

Marshall O has it right. Do not drip acclimate mailed snails, hermits, etc. You'll do more harm than good. In my years I've added thousands of snails to various set ups and temp. acclimating is all they need.
This link explains it all and John knows CUC's better than anyone.

I brought the Reefmonkey out of his Reef Cave. :p

Thank you for the helpful link. It really enlightened me. So I will not drip acclimate my CuC.

what would be the purpose of your QT?

I have added all my CUC and corals w/o a QT.
That being said, you can potentially contaminate a system with any organism that is WET. being that some viruses/parasites can/may be living in the water.

Please note, that I did not say you will contaminate, but that is is possible. So, it may be beneficial/safe to QT all future additions to the DT. This includes CUC, fish, corals, etc.

I was going to use the QT to make sure I was not introducing any harmful diseases to my DT. I also wanted to use it to correctly acclimate all my new inhabitants so that their stress is reduced. I have read that some people think that putting them in a QT would stress them even further, but I am not sure of that and don't want to compromise my other pets in my DT when I am completely set up and running.
