Just went through this. Put my clown back in DT yesterday after a severe bout of ich/brooklynella. I almost gave up the hobby when my tank started to faulter, but it comes with the territory I guess, so I keep on truckin!

Ok, sounds like you have a good handle on it! I was just concerned if you had a lot more fish you were trying to treat in the 10.

Yep its just the 4 fish. Only the clowns had white spots but I decided to move all of them to the at tank and treat them all just to be sure. And I also want to leave my tank fallow to be extra sure its not in my system anymore. After this venture I'll defiantly be more careful when adding fish to my tanks from here on out. On the up side the corals in my DT are doing great!

With the situation you have now, your best course of action is water changes on the qt tank. If you move live rock (or anything else) from the display tank to the qt tank then you will have to start the qt process all over again to make sure you didn't transfer it again.
In the future you can keep the hang on filter running on your sump with a sponge in it. Then when you get new fish or need to hospital, you can tank that hang on filter that already has the bacteria living on it, set up the small tank and presto you have a mini-cycled tank ready to go. If you are in the stages where you will be adding more rock, corals or fish fairly regularly, you can keep the qt/hospital tank running on its on for future use.

    Good luck with it.

Yes I plan on leaving it up and running but I won't be putting any live rock in it ever. The copper will be absorbed by the live rock and I'd have to constantly re dose the copper to keep it at the proper level. I don't mind doing water changes it gives me something to do during the day since I'm a stay at home dad.
