QT set up

    OK--thanks.

    I'm a little confused. I've read that using a sponge filter is the best, but I read nothing about water flow in a QT. I thought SW fish liked lots of water movement. How can a QT only be running a sponge filter with an air pump attached? Is the water in the QT just sitting stagnant then?

    That's a sponge filter that's already cycled. For instance, I keep Biowheels floating in my sump in case I need to setup a QT. In your case, that wouldn't help if you are trying to avoid using anything from your DT. You should check with someone local to borrow some filter media. Running a QT or HT with an uncycled filer is not a good idea. It will cause undue stress on your fish, and you.
