Should I keep the salinity in the QT lower than it is in the display tank?

That is often recommened, for most fish, to remove rid them of any parisited they may have. I say most fish because some can't handle the lower salinity.

IMO, if you are using it to quarantine new fish before putting them in your main tank then the salinity should be the same as the main tank ( or thereabouts )

If however you want to set this up as a hospital tank then as SF suggested a lower salinity would be better.

    Cheers

i usually try to keep the same parameters in both tanks, when you move the fish from one tank to the other it helps reduce the stress since the waters the same
