Space doesnt allow for a fuge/ sump on my setup. Everything is well concealed HOB. I bought a filter/ skimmer combo. The skimmer is much better than the others Ive had. The filter is 200gph ...1/3 less than my previous. The question ....what is most important when it comes to priority of quality ....filter or skimmer? I have an opinion but would like to hear from others. Thanks

Skimmer far and away. The filter is just another place for mechanical or chemical filtration.

Thanks Telgar and 2in10. I bought a via aqua combo ....altho it isnt top of the line, the skimmer on this thing is incredible! The junk this thing pulls out is crazy. My params have always been consistently spot on and have remained ideal, but Im sure theres been some positive biological affect.

you'll notice the difference in the corals first, you might see an improvement in water clarity but nowhere near as much as running a bit of carbon will.

You're welcome, glad to hear the skimmer is doing so well. Things like that are important for all to know.

The filter packs dont have carbon so I have noticed a difference in clarity ....less clear by 5-8%. Ill play around with different media to help water clarity. I bought a chemi-pur mb tonight. Ill give it a try after tomorrows h20 change. Your opinions are kindly valued!
