I was told that the back pressure valve will prevent the water from going the opposite direction over filling the sump.

I think you have your terminology wrong... a back pressure valve is also a pressure reducing valve... same thing you have reducing city water pressure coming into your house... it relives at the set pressure... in a back pressure application it is to maintain a set PSI... in a reducing situation it reduces to a set PSI.

You have a check valve which allows flow in only one direction... check valves can fail, which will cause a flood if your returns are not set up right... if your returns are set up right, you do not need a check valve.

I would not go with an psk-200 for that size tank and I would not let Greg @ BRA blow smoke at you either , he's a nice guy but he is also a sales man just a FYI

I thought you were just outlining and did not see questions....

You can't overskim... you CAN feed too little. People with starved coral do not have a over skimming problem, they have a feeding problem. Skimmers will only pull what is there, and then stop. it isn't like this one will work and this will not...an undersized skimmer will only get a percentage of what is there, but it will pull waste... and oversized skimmer will not pull more, it will just look cooler and cost more.

Plus it all depends on bio load and nobody can put a number on that. Most tanks are overstocked, not under stocked so always go by heavily stocked rating... completely disregard all the others.

You want a skimmer rated for 125% of what you have... 100% is fine, but no head room if something goes wrong. 125% will not remove any more... but again, headroom if something goes bad. Since you just went bigger, I doubt you will go bigger anytime soon. So you do not need to buy bigger to accommodate future expansion. 150% is fine... 200% is a complete waste of money, power, and space.

Wow that is a beautiful tank! It actually looks like a nice piece of furniture.

Good job on the move, it looks like everything went pretty smoothly.

I have orphek on my tank and yes they will grow sps corals on the bottom. I have mine hung 16" above the tank and 48" above my anemone tank. I would suggest you need 3 fixtures.

Here is a picture of my tank
