I'm setting up my old 20 gal tank as a QT and want to buy a filter for it. I was considering the Penguin Bio-wheel (Marineland). Will this be OK ?

    Suggestions are welcomed.

    Thanks :)

    Sure it will.
Just remember some medications will destroy your biological filtration.

I use a biowheel and it works great for a QT. Plus it oxygenates the water extremely well, especially the emporers with the spray bar. I've used them with copper and really havent seen any decrease in efficiency.

i'd recommend a simple aquaclear 70...easy to maintain and clean, more than ample room to run media and will provide plenty of needed flow...adjustable flow.

Might be a good idea to soak your bio media in the sump of your display tank or right in the tank itself if you don't have a sump to make sure you have some bio action going on when it comes time to use it.

    Just a thought. ;)
