I have a 29 gallon fresh water tank that I will be taking down to make room for my 75g reef tank.
I have had this tank for many years and have used various medications in it.
Is it safe to use it as my quarantine tank or would it be best to just go out and buy a new one?

it should be fine! as long as you dont house any inverts in it. and that it's only going to be used for quarantining fish. You're still going to be using medications and what not in it. So i think you should be perfectly ok!
