I want to set up a 10g QT. Any suggestions on what type of filter to use?

    Thanks!

I would go with some kind of cheap HOB. It doesn't need to be that fancy.

My QT tank is a 10g, with a Penguin - HOB filter. I just mix up some water a couple of days before any new purchase and start it up, dump and clean when finished. So far I've treated with CU only once, but have only put fish in the QT, no inverts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still not sure I understand - do I need 2 separate tanks - 1 for fish & 1 for inverts?

Inverts and some corals have a very low tolerance to Cu, if you never use Cu, one tank should be fine...

There have been some suggestions to add a Cu filter pad to the QT....

Just to be safe, since I have used Cu in my QT, I have marked the equipment and will not use it with any setup that will house inverts/corals. In the grander scheme of things, a 10g tank and penguin filter (all from Walmart) is very cheep insurance.... I have paid more for a single pice of coral than this equipment costs....
