if you have the capacity to run one, then the answer is absolutely yes. even for a pico! you want to not just know, but also control what goes inside your reef...ideally!

the size of your QT makes no difference unless you plan on adding something crazy like stingrays or generally speaking, large fish. I would suggest a 20L or a 40b since these are more cube rather than rectangular in shape, which the more shallow tanks will give you better par if your going to QT corals.

If you have room and funds are available you should definately run a quarantine tank, it is the best way to protect your investment in this hobby.

20-30 gallons should be fine for anything you put in a 75g for a short time. Took me an afternoon to set up mine.

FWIW, I just ordered some chromis from LA and one of them was sick (Uronema) and passed it on to everyone else :( Once we figured out what was going on we were able to treat them in tank (no clean up crew or coral in this setup) but it would have been cheaper to medicate a smaller quarantine tank as opposed to the display, and also easier to see what was going on with them. And we lost one that was too far gone and it was a pain trying to get it out of the DT. I know the large majority of people don't quarantine until they lose that gamble, so take my advice as someone who has lost: definitely quarantine!!
I use a 12g quarantine for my 55, and a 30 for a 220. I don't think the size is really important, especially if you are quarantining small, young fish.
And I use coral dip for corals in my reef, I've never quarantined them.
