I live in Florida and have the benefit of going to the beach and occasionally finding creatures I would like to put in my tank. Yesterday I was there and found a nice sea urchin. Is there an issue with just putting it in my tank or should I start quarantine tank and put it in there until I know it is safe to add to my display tank. If I have to go the quarantine route is there something I need to add to the water. I was just checking to see if anyone had experience doing this.

if its a quarantine tank then dont dose it with anything. But just observe it for a couple of weeks.

I quarantine everything before it goes into my display tank regardless of where it came from. Never had an outbreak/ilness yet in the display tank.

I use a 10 gallon or 15 gallon aquarium, bare bottom, some PVC pipes for hiding, and use a HOB filter filled with LR rubble.

I only dose if something is sick, otherwise just 4-5 weeks of observation and making sure the new arrival is eating and showing no signs of illness.
