I am planning on adding an anemone and a pair of black clowns in the future. I have done a little research, but I would like some suggestions about what type of anemone to add. I want something that won't be overly aggressive and that I won't lose other inverts or corals to. any suggestions?

What type of lighting do you have and how long has your tank been up?

My tank is very new. It is less than a week old. It's my first tank, and I am not planning on adding the anemone and clowns for at least a couple of months. I only have PC lighting now, but I will be adding at couple of halide lamps soon.

These are additions I just want to plan for. I would like to have the whole list of addtions planned out before adding them. I have had many years of freshwater experience, and this sort of population planning has always served me well, so I figure it couldn't hurt with a new reef set-up either.

lol..yeh I was thinking the same thing.

well most people wouldn't recommend a anemone in a tank unless it's at least a least a year old or basically a mature tank but with that said your halides will be more then enough light for one when you do decide to get one.

So what would be a good one to add considering that i am hoping that the clown pair will take refuge in it and i will have other inverts and corals near it?

No matter what anemone you choose, there is no gaurantee that they will host it. Clowns host whatever they want, regardless if there is an anemone or not, and its not always the anemone.
In regards to what is around it: You have to keep the area around an anemone vlear, or it will sting corals ans sesile inverts. There is no way around it with any type of anemone. Also, the anemone will move around to whatever spot it chooses, so be prepared to be moving and re-arranging as it does. And if you are really worried about losing that stuff, I wouldn't suggest an anemone. If/when one dies, they release toxins that will wipe out everything in the tank. I don't want it to sound like an attack or anything, but these are all the facts that has to be accepted when choosing to keep anemones.
