As I posted in another thread, my clowns have started to go in and out of my bubble coral. It looks different now, the bubbles are not all the way to the middle, it stays flat in the middle and bubbles are around the rims. It still seems inflated. Should I be concerned? I'm not sure there's a lot I can do about it except to remove the clowns or the coral which I don't want to do. I'll try and get hubby to take a pic.

ok, here's a before and now pic comparison- sorry not the clearest pic but you can see the difference.

Im battling the same thing with my clowns/ Brain coral right now. Im not sure if left alone the brain will make it long term. Im keeping an eye on it and target feeding often. its staying open for the time being and doesnt seem to be retracting...yet
bubble coral I think would be a bigger concern with how thin the polyps are....I would say that if your already seeing a change for the worse it may be time to act, not sure if it will get used to the clown. my clown was/is pretty aggressivley rubbing and mouthing it so I could only imagine what my clown would do to a bubble coral.

The clowns at this point are not real aggressive, they just sort of lay and slide kind of where the coral is flat in the middle...they definitely don't mouth it and they are not in there all the time, they don't sleep there - they just periodically visit. Could this be the way the coral is choosing to allow the clowns access or is it a negative reaction to them. I should edit the original post, if people think the bubble is in peril, I don't want to remove it but I certainly will if that's the case.

No, that's definitely not good. Clownfish and LPS corals don't mix well long term; the sharp-edged skeleton almost always damages the fleshy polyp. With a thin-skinned species like the bubble, it may be sooner than later.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Yup! :)

Some LPS are not designed for Clowns, and unfortunately some clowns are not designed for some anemones, it's that rare no win.:-/

well, I started to address the problem by moving the bubble coral to see if that helps. So far, the clowns have stayed away from it in its new location. Maybe I can have win/win with this solution. I think I'm due one lol...

Best of luck with the new placement. My clown keeps going back to my brain coral no matter where I put it. Finally figured I'm probably stressing it out more moving the coral then the fish is

so far, knock on wood - they seem to be staying away for the most part. I'm not sure if the new placement is the best place for it though since it's at the top near the light...??
