    Hey everyone,
I have a new setup and I have a question... I set up my new Coralife 65, and after several days I have very little bubble production. I was expecting tons of microbubbles, but with the valve cut back for the "break-in" period, there were none.(I left it for 3 days) Now there are still very few and I can't cut the valve all the way open without the collection cup overflowing. There is nothing in my tank but 40lbs of live sand right now. I have checked the venturi and it seems clear. Any ideas? Thanx,

The instructions tell you to cut the tube that the powerhead hangs from. It is likely that your powerhead is too far underwater and this will cause difficutly in pulling air into the mix. Also check to make sure the canister at the end of the air line is working properly by blowing in one end. It should be free flowing. My bet is on the first one.

My suggestion is to take the air line loose from the air inlet silencer and and blow into it to make sure it is not plugged up. The silencer could also be plugged or wet inside.
If you get good bubble formation in the main chamber then you slowly close the valve and watch the bubbles go up the cone chamber about 3/4". It should skim dry there...

Instructions, you're supposed to read the instructions??? I didn't, I just put it together and turned it on... I guess I was lucky.  ::)

Thanks for the feedback. I checked the height of the powerhead and it was at 3" so that was ok. I checked the silencer and it had some water in it. Once I cleared that, it started acting like I expected it to.. I feel really dumb missing that, I was focused totally on the skimmer and pump. :-[ Thanks again!
