I was wondering what the need for a Goby in the Elacatinus genera? I don't know how common parasites are on fish. I was thinking of getting one in this genera and a goby in the Amblyeleotris genera. I like the symbiotic relation ship between the goby and shrimp, and would think it cool to see a goby in some sort of relationship with other fish too.

Anyone that knows about this subject I would like hear from.

    Thank you

I doubt they would really clean off fish that much, especially small ones.
Have you considered Gobiodon clown gobies and sps corals?

No I have not, but I will not be able to have any corals for quite some time. At least not until I have adequate lighting.

Basically, they only eat parasites off of the surface. Very few dangerous parasites live solely on the surface. So it will eat some, but it isn't going to be an exterminator by any means and could only wipe out types that are similar to leeches.

I'd be careful with this relationship, unless you get a decent sized colony, because clown gobies irritate and some even nip at the polyps of sps corals.

If it were me, I'd go with a watchman goby and a snapping shrimp.

That's true, they do eat and irritate the polyps.

zgetman, I'm not a scientific name gal :) - I would go with a goby/pistol shrimp pair. The watchman goby is pretty cool and I think they are compatible with tiger pistols.
