Under everyones karma rating there is different amounts of green squares(i assume, the more lit up ones, the more karma?)but once in a while i see someone who has a single black or dark blue(can't really tell with my old eyes)square under there karma. Are they maxed out? Some have decent amounts of karma points.Or is this negative karma? Not pointing any fingers,i just don't know what it means. Does anybody know?

It means they have disabled karma in their profile. So it wont show for them. And no new karma can be added.

it means they have checked the box in user settings to hide karma... it doesn't really do much and I don't understand why people click that box. I can still see how much karma you have, just not how many boxes you accumulated. so what. But that's what it is.

You are correct that the number of boxes equates to how much karma you have.

Don't let karma mean anything to you though. It's pretty meaningless on 3reef. There are many reasons for that, but it's just 'something for fun'. A person's karma level has no bearing on how "useful" that person is as a resource or anything... I'm a member on other forums (not reef related) where karma means quite a bit and you really can judge someone based on it; but not here.

If I remember right, I think the button to add karma is missing from people who have it disabled. I could be wrong about this. I need to find some one with it off to test it now. :)

Karma = fun here just as Peredhil stated, it's hard to place real meaning to it when we all run around in the wee hours of the morning spreading Karma showers on any post with more than 3 answers in it :jester:

Thanks both of you,and yea Pered, karma don't mean much i know.I seen bad advice from high k people and awesome advice from some with almost none.Take mine for example,it look decently high for the amount of post, but 90% of that is from compliments or freindly advise,it's deffinatly not because i'm an expert! LOL

I found somebody with it turned off,and it appears you can still add k,they still have the icon for k.I clicked it,and it appeared it would let me give k,I know it's no big thing, but you had me wondering too.:cheesy: and thanks for the fast answers!!

Ah ok. I was wrong. That makes it even more silly to turn it off then.
