Im putting 6 tanks together with them being stacked. There will be 1-40 long on the bottom, 2-20h in the middle and 2-15's on the top.

Question is can I just drain the top 2 into the middle tanks then down to the bottom tanks. Then have that tank drain into the sump?

Also for the return can I just feed the water to the top two tanks sense the top two tanks will be draining into the middle then the bottom?

It wouls be like a huge loop I guess. If you also think of it as one tank.

I just didnt know if the tanks would drain fast enough. Plus if the bottom tank would get to dirty.

If not I was going to drain each one seprate untill the bottom then tie them together after the tank drains. So I just have 3 drains. Then I was going to put a main return up the middle of the stand and just tee off to each tank.

    Let me know thanks.

Yes you could, you just need to give different height to each tank and gravity will do the rest, about draining fast enough, the speed of the drainage is determine by the pump, they will drain what pumps send, if pipes have the capacity to drain the flow.

Just make sure, the lower tanks can handle the water in the pipes and drainage after the pumps is off, cause might overflow it.
