I am getting ready for a 120 gallon tank and the total weight of the tank and sump without the stand will be around 3/4 of a ton!

I have been planning to put the tank in a room with floor over a sub floor (crawl space whatever) but it is an inaccessible space with the floor being a foot above the sub floor. There is a spot where I looked in and it looks like the joists are 2x8-10ish xD

I was planning to put the tank against an outside wall with its leftmost side against another outside wall and then make my stand with a flat base instead of legs to spread the weight. its going to be a 4'x2'x2' so it will rest on 3 joists.

so what do you think or know !? should my floor hold the tank or would it cause sagging in the floor?

Will the tank be running with or against the floor joist. If it's against you are good with not so good. Can you see the floor joist. What size are they.

Cool it will be perpendicular to the joists I just didn't know if 3 joists would take the weight without messing up my floors!

If you are able to get under there at all, I would suggest just bracing the joists together with 2 of the same, 2x8 2x10, just sistered together. it will help spread the load out.

Unfortunately, it is all closed in and the only way to get in there would be to tear up the flooring they left a "peephole" of sorts in one of the walls so I can see in there but there is no other way to get down there :-/

It may come down to the size of those floor joists. 2x8 may not be enough. That is just a lot of dead weight on 3 joists.
