question about my LR

o.k. here goes the question.. my live rock is green.. lol.. everything else in the tank is fine but the rock is ugly green with very short brownish hairish stuff.. the hairish stuff doesnt get any longer then about a half inch . tank has been up for three months after a major crash with a 100% loss. fish are happy but i am not..lol.. i can see purple under the green. should i scrub all the rock and see if it comes back?

Yes, I would remove the rock and scrub it in a bucket with some old water from your tank and a toothbrush. Then put the rock back into the tank.
Keep doing water changes to reduce your waste level.
You should also consider running a Phosban reactor.
Last high flow helps reduce algae from growing on your rocks

 

thats what i thaught... i think flow has been a problem.. well until today when i modded my aquaclears now its rediculous.. will it cause another cyce if i do this?

 

how old is your tank and filters? if pretty well established, it shouldn't trigger another cycle, but maybe a temporary rise in N03

 

tank is up for bout three months after a crash. was up for one year before that..

 

oh i didnt mention it sat for about 3 months off just water , i cleaned everything but the lr mistake i guess..

 

I don't think you'll go thru a full cycle again, but you might see a rise N03. I think Ammo. and Nitrite will stay where they are.
