So i assume that means you arent getting any water what so ever flowing out the spraybar either?

So, basically what you wanna do is close all of the valves on the quick connects and turn off the power to the filter....Open up the top and fill the canister with aquarium water to the rim. then you wanna disconnect the quick disconnect on the filters intake. Pull the filter intake out and fill that side of the hose with as much water as possible then reconnect it and put it back in place. (make sure to keep the valves closed)
then open the valves on the spray bar side only and plug the power back in.
Finally open the valves on the intake side and it should get the siphon going and in effect get the filter going.

yeah there is a little spot that is notched out that you can use a flat head screwdriver to pry it open a bit...The reason it is gonna be hard to get off is because the valves are closed and there is an air tight seal from the o-ring around the motor assembly (the top of the canister) Once you get a little air in there from prying it up a bit...it will come off with ease.

Ok, now i just feel like an idiot. When i bought this filter yesterday, i was asking the owner at the store (who i know very well) how to set it up and if its complicated. He said its fairly easy and briefly showed me how the hoses are attached and which one goes where. He said all i have to do was set up the hoses and that everything inside the canister is all set up for me. He told me to siphon the water into the canister by sucking on the out-take hose and quickly connect it back together and that should get it running. So all i did was set up the hoses last night without even opening the top. Now i just got the top opened and there is a plastic bag over everything. OMG! I am assuming this isnt supposed to be there.

HAHAHA OMG, yea so i just took out the bag and now it runs perfect, just like it should, and there are nice streams coming out of the holes. LOL wow i really feel stupid but he never said anything about the bag or anything about me even having to open the top. LOL thanks for the help though now it runs like a charm.

hahaha it happens to the best of us! i just remember having so many issues trying to get my 2215 primed for the first time... ( i was also running a UV and a heater inline so i had a lot more volume to prime making it a bit more of a pain) So i figured i knew what it was like to be in that situation with a brand new filter that wont ...filter hahah!
