question about my skimmer running for 2 weeks ???

my protein skimmer running for 2 weeks since i put the first fish from 2 weeks .. now they are 3 and it still didnt break in ... but today i found the cup filled with water and the skimmer make an overflow ... i empty the cup and put it again and low the air pump power ( air stone p.skimmer ) 30 gal tank ...
is that right ?????? or i have to do something ?

No,i would keep the airpump turned up where it was and raise the skimmer itself higher.It may take several adjustments.Those airstone driven skimmers can be finicky.I had one in my nanocube that was more trouble than it was worth.

 

but the problem i can't high it up cause ii have a cover for the tank ... the level of water is under the cup base by 2 cm

 

You mean the base of the collection cup is setting 2cm deep in the water?

If so,can you cut/dremel out the hood for the skimmer to be raised?

 

nono ... i mean its up water level by 2 cm .... its up in air all cup not in the water

 

Well,then try the lower air pressure and see if it improves (don't expect miracles from an airstone driven skimmer though).
