question about new 4xT5 light

    I just bought a used 4xT5 light hood for my 75 gallon that I just set up. They guy I bought it from told me bulbs are about 4 months old. They unit has a built in timer where you can turn on the back 2 lights and then front 2 lights at different times. My question is what order should I have the bulbs in. I know some at different times to simulate light cycle. Here are the bulbs in the current order. (from back to front)


    Giesemann Actinic
    Giesemann 6000K
    Korallen-Zucht Fiji Purple
    Aqua-Science Special??? (thats all it says)

    Just didnt know if I should leave it this way. Thanks for any help.

    Id go with the aqua science and actinic for the first bulbs on if you don't like that then go with actinic and fiji purple for first bulbs on

    2) Actinic w/6000K

    Never heard of Aqua Science Special...:confused:

    ok found out the 6000k and Special?? bulb is old. I am keeping the Fiji purple and the Actinic+ bulb what should I replace the others with??

    I would replace both bulbs with either ATI Aquablue Special or Geisemann Aquablue. The 6000K will tend to cause your corals to brown out. You could replace the Aqua Science with the same bulb as they are a very good bulb also.

    So if I get the 2 ATI aquablue bulbs do from back to front

    Giesemann Actinic +
    KZ Fiji Purple
    ATI Aquablue special

    +1 to this, always try to mix the bulbs to get the most even spectrum distribution.
