Alright I have read some things before but couldn't find anything quickly. What kind of paint can I use. How should I paint it. What color, black I assume. Any other suggestions?

On a couple of my older tanks,i masked off the top and sides with newspaper and used krylon flat black spray paint, worked good for me.

same here. clean with acetone or paint thinner and go slow (several light coats). very happy with mine but be careful about over spray going under the top trim. i have one small area that did, but i don't even notice it anymore
