question about RODI compared to Purified bottled

    so with that said do you think i should go back to instant ocean, could the reef crystals be giving me too much nutrients?

    well I use reef crystals and RODI water and I have no issues.

    How much of the original tap water is in the biocube?
    Unfortunatley small tanks react quickly to any impurities because of their inherent lack of water volume thus stability.
    Big water changes and make sure to top off with 000 TDS water too.Give it time.

    right now ive got a bicolor and 3 hermits.plus 2 frags of zoey's

    i feed the bi-color tiny bit about every 3-4 days.

    the tank is almost a year old now.
    maybe 10 months.

    I would have to say that you are reeping the ill effects of that old tap water.The only way to fix it other than a complete restart IMO is to continue to do good sized (20-25%) water changes until it works itself out.That with good skimming and not overfeeding and you should see results.
