    I live on the Nature coast of Fl
    I just got my new T-5 Nova Extremes on Saturday. My question is the about the exhaust fan, mine blows very hot air out---is this normal?

    Thanks, I knew it was supposed to cool off the lights but had no idea that it would be that hot.

    Its actually not the lights, its the ballasts that power the lights. The T5 bulbs themselves give off very little heat

    Yeah, T5's are definitely superior when it comes to decreased heat output- nobody needs extra heat cooking the tank! :p to MH's! ;D

    I have the nova extreme too and I don't think the fan is that loud, if you don't have the tv on you can hear it, but other wise my skimmer out competes it, that isn't even that loud
