So I am on here all the time reading and gathering information, I would like to buy used equipment but the 50 post rule will make it take forever to get there, being that this is post #3. I dont think I can really add much in terms of knowledge since I am the one scouring the site for answers! Any way to get past the 50 post rule?

Make 50 posts... It's really doesn't take long. It keeps people from junking the site up. I'm sure you have more to contribute than you think. If nothing else you can compliment peoples set up and add a word of encouragement. No matter how long you have been at the hobby it's nice when someone appreciates your display.

    Welcome to 3Reef!

Asking a question also counts towards your 50 posts. There's not really a way around the rules for the forums in The Marketplace.

That would actually be considered post padding if you only post in that manner in order to access the Marketplace. Unfortunately, we can not make any exceptions to our rules. It doesn't really take long to reach 50 posts especially if you're new to the hobby. Ask questions and answer any questions that you know the answer to and you'll be there in no time.

Welcome, my only suggestion other then float around the site until you reach 50 posts is that if your in the USA most states have a reef club and they usually have sites with forums, might be worth looking at something more local for used equipment or ebay of course in the meantime. I doubt it'll take u long to reach 50 posts though :)

go to the Show off your fish tanks section. You could easily find 50 tanks you like. Ask the ops questions about their setups or everyone appreciates a compliment on their tank.

Really?? You can't find 50 threads to comment/ask questions in? A few good questions and their following responses could easily generate near enough. Meh, maybe he's just one of this listen more than talk folks ;)
