So My tank has been set up roughly 7 months, within the last month or so I've been getting these white specks on the back of the tank glass and on the powerheads and filtration units.. I was wondering If anyone knew what they were?

I wanna say like some calcium deposit or something but Im not sure at all... Thanks in advance!

Tiny little feather dusters. (Cant remember the proper name of them at the moment) Harmless filter feeders.

I actually have a UV attached to my canister and turn on when need be... Come to think of it... Looking closer at them, they match what's all over my LR...

Might be a pain to get rid of them then If I wanted to... They probably would spread again.

    Thanks everyone!

lol, After putting my glasses and staring at them for like 3 minutes, they are round tube like specks, with no center... Some of them have almost like a feathery end...

They're actually not that hard to scrape off your glass. If you just use a mag float its really easy.

they are going to be nearly impossible to remove.. I would just enjoy them, I mean all of those little suckers have to do something for filtering..

    Look up spirorbid worms.

That's odd Bama, I can get mine off fairly easily.

Definitely feather dusters, usually with red feathers. They are all over the walls of both my tanks
