    Hi Guy's

I have a frag that is half covered with green zoas and half with orange.
Well it used to be anyway. Recently the orange ones have all but died off.

I have tested the water and everything is where it should be.

Does anyone know what sort of prob could do this and leave the green zoas untouched (they still look great)?

Lighting is more than adaquate for zoas. Just seems V strange that the green ones have stayed V healthy whilst the orange ones have died. Whatever is affecting one lot must be affecting both (they're even on the same rock).

it is possible the green ones stung the orange, i people will say this shouldn't happen but it happened to me when a few brown ones on a rock over took a much larger colony of yellow ones.

If all params are stable, then it might be that the green ones played the dominant role in this fight. Now get some nudibranchs to piss the green ones off!!!

    Juuuuust kidding.

Their are various forms of Zoanthids, not just zo's! Parazoanthus, Palyzoa, Isaurus, Protopalythoa and others that have varying degress of toxicity!

    Thanks guys,

It never occurred to me that zoas might sting zoas.

I was starting to wonder if my coral beauty had developed a taste for all things orange;D (he pecks at my toadstool now and again).

I had a coral beauty that really enjoyed eating zoa polyps. He didn't last very long.

I had orange and green ones. They were on the same rock and had everything the same. And still had the green zoas die off. After 1-2 yrs they are finally coming back on it. I thought they were dead. Weird.
