hey guys ive been doing alot of reasearch and what not, im pretty sure i want to get a tek t5 fixture and then i saw someone with a 55g tank like mine that had a 36" 6 bulb and i liked the way that looked with the smaller light hanging above the bigger tank and i was wondering if that would be enough light output, so my question i guess is do you guys think i would be fine on a 55g to get a 36" tek t5 6 bulb, a 48" tek t5 4 bulb or a 48" 6 bulb, i dont reaslly plan on getting any sps corals that need very intense lighting just easier to care for corals:confused: thanks for any suggestions guys :D

i would go with the 48" 4 bulb tek. i would avoid the 36" as a 55 is 48" long and you want even light distribution through the tank

The fixture also has active cooling. That is why it is much better. Prolongs the life of the bulbs and allows the bulbs to operate at their optimum temperature for maximum PAR output.
