    I don't know about that petrified wood? Interesting question...I would wonder...is it TRULY a rock now? Will it release trace elements that you may not want in the tank(perhaps fueling the hair algae?)

    I would assume? that is a very dense type of rock...when you really want porous rock for biofiltration. Is it in there as base or live rock, or do you like the look of it?
