A while back i wrote a post because i saw these tiny heads floating around. They were from my frogspawn but tonight a whole long arm was floating with lots of heads it was at least an inch big. it this normal or something to worry about?

could any of my fish be bothering it? ( royal G, Wrasse, two clowns, and hippo tang)

I've never heard of this. But it could be a way a reproducing or dropping frags. Don't hold me to this I have no idea just a shot in the dark.

If ur params aren't outta whack Id just let it be

My branching frogspawn grows new heads on the base of the old bigger branches of the frogspawn colony. I have had heads fall off, from falling onto the sand and being damaged. The heads that release usually die, and the head of the frogspawn that it left will likely die as well.

Make sure your frogspawn are in low flow, because high current may be ripping them off. My frogspawn do well in low flow and low in the tank. If they are too high in the tank, your fish may be hitting it when feeding. They get a little crazy then.

I have some large frogspawn and every once in a while during feeding a fish would nip at them if brine fall on them, this usually result is pieces of polyps floating around the tank. My clowns used to host one of them a while back and they were tearing it up so I got an anemone. If this is happening to yours on a regular basis, it may be a sign of too much flow or something is nipping at it....providing your parms are in check.

I've never seen my Frogspawn do that. I went from 3 heads to 8 and they grow off the side of the existing heads.

In the beginning my clowns would nip/ mouth the tentacles. I have only seen one tiny piece which attached to my monti. Does it look ok? If it seems healthy I would either say its doing it itself or the clowns might be nipping. Keep an eye

Oh, sometimes the tentacles can twist on themselves and pinch off. maybe flow related.

Its not a good thing, i have seen this happen a few times with other people frogpspawns and they dont really survive through it..Try moving it into lower flow.
