When I got my frogspawn it was a single head without any skeletal structure. It was very had to get to stay in one place. After a few months it finally regrew the skeletal base and has been great ever since, even with my clown residing in it. Dont get rid of it if it looks ok, in my experience it can survive and regrow the base and should be fine, just keep in an area of low flow.

This is normal, but not good. It's a last ditch survival effort by the frogspawn, hoping some of the dropped material can survive.

thanks for the replies guys i'm going with the high flow and twist. I have seen tiny pieces float in the past i posted about that before and it was during feeding times. the FS has like 5 heads growing in nicely yon the side so when i saw one long fully extended arm floating i was alarmed because it wasn't something a fish would nip at it was very long. The end actually looked like it twisted off i never realized how fragile it actually is so i'm going to turn the flow down another notch. Never thought about that and appreciate the help!

My coral guy will actually take Frogspawn and Torch and break me off heads close to the base. I've seen him do it several times over the last year. I would think it should survive but may need to be babied for awhile.

My bubble coral actually did this as well, I big head just popped off, because so many others were growing on it there was no room it just kinda popped off..sadly it floated over into the torch coral that killed it quickly.
