I have a standard 10 gal, put LR & LS in it yesterday, now trying to position the LR and wondering the following:

Is it okay to set the rock against or close to the back of the glass to give me more room up front?

How many of you use some sort of aquatic glue to keep your LR stable?

Also, I have a Koralia 1 PH, would the back glass be the best placement or one of the ends?

    All info. is greatly appreciated.

I have always leaned my rock against the back glass.. I have a 2.5 gal pico so I need as much room as possible..

On a 10 gal I would put the koralia on one end or the other.

Yes, it very hard to avoid having some rock touching back glass, but try and keep contact minimal if possible as this then helps with water circulation around the tank

also put rock on bottom 1st and then add sand around it, dont have rock sat on sand as any burrowing later can cause a rock slide

reef putty can be used to help secure rock work, but IME its not always required, providing you build your structure much the same way as a dry stone wall is built
avoid any placement where there is a pivot (rock is balanced rather than secure)

if you add a rock onto rockwork below and then you feel instability, you need to remove the rock you have and address the issue on the rocks below , stability after adding each piece is the target IMO

PH placement, back wall is OK , but I prefer side walls as you can then move them forward if you need to depending on your corals needs

Okay, so make sure it is secure than the glue/putty is not required. The rock slide really concerns me so I will be extra cautious.

Currently my powerhead is on the left end but was not sure if that was the ideal spot.

Thank you for all the info.
