I'm pretty new and still learning but I was curious for a coral tank that's 46 gallon what would be the recommended lighting to use

Also I have seen so many different kinds of lighting setups what is the best and easiest to run in your personal opinion

LEDs seem to ve where the hobby is heading. I use MH, however they run hot and can cause warming problems with your water as well as extras in electric bill. I also use a couple actinic LEDs to help make my colors pop.

If you can't afford LEDs then t5's is where you wanna be.

i have a 47 gallon with 2 t5 rails (total of 4 bulbs) 2 days and 2 nights. corals that need stronger light i place higher in the tank. everyone seems to be doing fine so far (newish tank as its only been 6 months). you should be fine with the T5s.

you should be good with t5, LEDs are over rated anyway(mainly because I cant afford the fixtures I want to light my 90 with) Ok now that i got that envious rant out of my system I would go with 4 bulb t5, I used to run these on my 46 gal bowfront after I switched from metal halide and was still able to grow everything i wanted with some rearranging.
