I was just starting up my diy kalk reactor for the first time and thought of a question, I had read that when mixing kalk for a drip or reservoir you should let it sit for a few hours before adding to the tank. With the reactor, since it is hooked to my auto-top off and will mix every couple of hours, it will occassionally dose recently mixed or even mixing kalkwasser. Is this ok? I haven't read anything about people setting up their top-offs to run only after the last mixing cycle has ended for a couple of hours, but didn't want to miss something big like that and mess up my tank. Thanks for any input.

I run the same system you have but I mix only twice a day for 1 hr then let the stuff settle for 1.5 hrs before I let water go back through it for ATO. So that means I have it shut off for 2.5 hr intervals twice a day. One is at 10am and the other is at 10pm when the tanks lights are not on and not much evaporation.
I also have a float valve in my sump in case the water ever gets low from the ATO/Kalk not working it will start letting RO/DI water in.
