Question on Kaudern's Cardinal's

My mom likes these fish and i'm trying to get her into the fish tank so i wanted her to pick out a fish that would be hers. Today at the lfs she saw these fish and was saying she wanted them. My only worry is that according to liveaquaria they are semi-aggressive and that worries me.
My stocking list is going to be, my pair of black and white clowns, helfrichi firefish, and red velvet wrase

How aggressive are these cardinals? I would get 3 because of them being a schooling fish which would make my tank slightly overstocked but i have a powerful skimmer for my size tank and should handle it. And i also plan on getting the tank raised.

So if anyone has any experience on these fish some info would be great

From reading a bit online it seems like if you just had one it would be okay, but a school in a tank as small as yours may cause aggression.

yea i had done some reading as well. I'll be totally cool with having only 1 of the cardinals, but i just always thought cardinals were schooling fish and liked to be in large groups, guess these guys don't

 

I think they do if the space is large enough, but if it's too crowded they get mean. Kind of like people!

 

haha yea, i hope i'm abe to get at least one to make my mom happy, i really don't want any aggression in the tank especially because of my helfrichi's firefish, but at the same time i want to make my mom happy

 

If these are tank raised kaudern's cardinals, then you should be fine. They can and will chase other member's of their own sex around, so if you want more than 1, try to get a pair.

Now the ones that are not specifically tank raised, i would steer clear of unless they are eating. Otherwise most wild caught ones won't eat in captivity and die.

 

Just get one and there will be no aggresion. two or more and they become a problem. My Doctor went through that episode. they are pretty fish and will school nicely but 1 is all you should get. I have a pajama cardinal their a pretty sweet fish. Kinda goofy looking though.
