Just trying to get some input on my flow. I know its kinda crappy so I'm trying to figure out how to make it better. The tank is a 100g FOWLR

The outlet in the upper left is from the cannister filter and kinda weak, only 350gph, it is pointed diagonally towards the glass and a little to the right, hitting about the middle.

The second one on top is the outlet for my sump/overflow box and I don't really know exactly how strong it is. I'd guess about 800gph cause it's noticably stronger than the other filter pump. It is aimed diagonally towards the center of the tanks glass right under the water's surface. This provides the majority of surface agitation and is in a fixed position. The only thing I can do is point it higher or lower.

The pump on the right is an 1100 gph Seio powerhead and is split with half of the flow directed towards the center of the rocks and the other half flowing across the front of the rocks through open water towards the other side of the tank.

I was thinking about getting 2 750gph Koralias and placing them next to each other on the left side of the tank like this, being that most of the strong flow is headed the other way at the moment

With one of them pointing slightly towards the surface to intercept the sump outlet and one slightly down towards the rocks to push more water on the left of the rock face from the front left corner area.

Just an idea. I have also thought about putting the koralias on the back facing out towards the front of the glass too. I don't know which would work better. Sorry for my crappy drawings and nasty tank. This is a picture for reference

Also would 750gph hour powerheads be fine or would I need to go bigger? I was just wanting to use a higher quantity of less powerful pumps so my fish don't have to do battle every time they swim around that would happen if I threw another 1000+gph powerhead in there. Thanks for the help in advance:)

I have read where others talk about their fish being blown around or whatever, I never understood the concern. The ocean currents are far stronger and the fish are fine. As a matter of fact, I read an article, that I agree with, that stated fish bennefit from strong currents in our tanks much like we bennifit from exercise. The Koralia pumps, especially the new ones put out a gentle but effective flow. Here is a pic of my tank, sometimes seeing someone elses tank helps. On the left there are a #4 and Nano Korallia and on the right are a #3 and #1. You will also notice the dual returns.

    sounds good.

i think you could get away with one large 1400gph or so on that one side, but 2 would be more flexible as far as aiming the flow. either way i dont think it would be to much

here is how mine was set up with koralia's (its a 90 gallon)

I usally try to have a whirlpool effect going from return to other side of tank, and blow the flow accross sand aiming towards the other side of tank where overflow box is. I also aim one powerhead right at the waterline a little, this will cause more daily water evaporation but thats life.

the only dead spots I get are in the face of my rock pile about mid level. but I have this, because my LPS corals need low flow.. a little turkey baster action bi-weekly takes care of any buildup.

Thanks for the input everyone it helped a lot. I guess I'll just have to experiment a little when I get some more powerheads and let you all know how it goes = )
