Hey everyone I was wondering if a finnex 4 bulb 24" fixture or a 24" Nova Extreme T5 HO 4 bulb would be enough lighting to keep sps and clams in a 30 gal. cube. Thanks for the help.

Should be fine (unsure of the clam though), I have 4 48" T5's HO for my 72 and the LPS's are doing great, and the owner of my LFS uses t5's for all of his SPS corals.

The sps should be fine, but if you get a clam, you may want to try to place midway up or higher in the tank. Clams do require more care i.e. feeding and lighting

I bought a little coral skeleton with 12 mushrooms (you can imagine how small)which are not to light demanding but in one weeks time under the t5 lights they are twice their size

Ditto that, I know people that keep clams under T5's and their fine just keep it in a really well lit area, if your's is a 30g cube Those tend to be pretty deep if memory serves me right so You'd want it like midway up or higher if you have a good surface for it

i'm having trouble with mine right now.my mushrooms were shrunken so i raised the light and their good but the monti started dying so i lowered the light and put the monti on one side, mushrooms on the other and just raised the side with mushrooms.so my light is sitting crooked now.the light makes it all the way to the sand so i can't just move the corals up and down in the tank.already tried that.
