Question reguarding Macro algae Lighting

    I was thinking of trying to put some macro algae in my sump, I allready have a clip on desk light down there so I was thinking of putting a 40 watt grow bulb in it. Will that work?

    That is what I use a 40 w but will be going a little higher in wattage soon. So you will be fine with that.

    nice, thanks. So what kind do you guys recommend? this is going in my sump so I dont have much room, this is what im working with. The only problem I can see is it getting out of control and growing into the intake of the pump and the protein skimmer

    You will have to keep an eye on it and trim it back some.

    I have mangroves, cheato and sea lettuce in my fuge.

    +1 most effective at nitrate removal with low maintenance.
