a cleaner shrimp is a great addition, mine does the same when my hand is in the tank (jumps on it and starts pickin away) and eats pellet food aswell as frozen krill.

Right! I have drip acclimated my other inverts (sea star, hermits). That is what I am planning for the shrimp, unless there is something better that I dont know about...

I would say float the bag in the tank and drip is fine just do it over an hour or less, too long equals too much stress

Thanks! I have him in the tank now, and we have affectionately named him Scampi :) The fish are already lining up, but hes not quite ready for them now. Its funny how they all know what he is there for. My coral beauty, who has a tendency to be the bully of the tank, has followed Scampi around openly inviting him to clean her! Im sure all the fish will be thrilled when Scampi decides to open up shop!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I just got two cleaner shrimp yesterday. After drip acclimating them for an hour I put them in and they immediately went hiding in the rocks. Since then I haven't seen them come out at all yet. At one point I saw one of their whiskers peeking out from behind a rock, but nothing else. Should I be worried? They didn't seem too timid at first, while acclimating I put a finger in and they both came up and started picking at my finger. Any ideas? Thanks

your drip acclimation may not have been enough... i typically take about three hours to acclimate my inverts and usually turn over about 2-3X the water volume of the bag to make sure they are adjusted okay
